چکیده

This paper describes how to refine a Gaia design by applying agentoriented extensions of UML. First, we show how the Gaia Interaction model can be improved by applying the first two layers of the Agent Interaction Protocol (AIP) of AUML. Second, Gaia Agent and Service models are refined by applying the AIP’s third layer combined with Extended UML Class Diagrams. Third, Gaia Organisational Structure is enriched by applying the Aalaadin model. The final aim of the whole process is to obtain a more concrete design closer to implementation. We demonstrate how the refinement process can be applied to the development of an agent-based system for conference management.

On combining organisational modelling and graphical languages for the development of multiagent systems

This article illustrates the application of the Gaia methodology to the development of a system for Selective Dissemination of Information on the Web, as well as the integration of Gaia with AUML. This allows a concrete design closer to implementation and the developer offers a better insight into the multiagent system that is being built. Gaia is an agent-oriented organisational methodology th...

The Gaia2Jade process for multi-agent systems development

& In this paper we present the Gaia2JADE process concerning how one can implement a multiagent system with the JADE framework using the Gaia methodology for analysis and design purposes. This process is particularly dedicated to the conversion of Gaia models to JADE code. It is described using the Software Process Engineering Metamodel (SPEM) and extends the one proposed by FIPA for describing ...

Basic Concepts and Extensions

The Gaia methodology (Wooldridge et al., 2000) has been the rst complete methodology for the analysis and design of multiagent systems. However, the original version of Gaia su ered from the limitations of being suitable for the analysis and design of closed multiagent systems and of adopting non-standard notation techniques. For these reasons, several extensions to the basic Gaia methodology h...

A Proposal to Support an Adaptive Hypermedia System through a Multiagent System

The heterogeneity problem (in terms of different types of access devices, bandwidth of the network, preferences/characteristics of the user, etc.) has become one of the major problems to be solved on the Internet. Different alternatives have been developed in order to allow universal access to any type of content, and the Adaptive Hypermedia Systems (AHS) have emerged as a solution for this. At...
